MultiJuction (MJ) Module

Mounted on the side of the UNLV Amonix unit is a MultiJuction (MJ) Module. There are 24 cells mounted on an Amonix advanced receiver plate. The MJ cells are from SpectroLab, who currently holds the world record for the highest efficiency at 39% (for triple junction cells). This module is reaching over 28%. Currently long term testing is going on and UNLV has had of 500 hours of operation without any cell failures or degradation. In January we were seeing approximately 28% efficiency and in July 28.4%.
