Data Collection

It is important to now how much solar insolation the site is getting to analyze the performance of the solar generating systems being researched and other research projects at the university. This data can also be valuable in estimating the power output of solar generating systems in the Las Vegas area.

Weather Stations

Daily Normal Incidence Pyrheliometer (NIP) Data

Normal Incidence Pyrheliometer Data is collected at the Solar Site. This is the amount of direct sun energy that is being received at the site. The sun's energy is rated in W/m2. Listed below are links to the data that has been collected starting from September 2003.

Pyranometer Data

This data began being collected in March of 2005. This data global horizontal data which is direct and indirect light that is being received at the site. Our sensor is mounted on a stand horizontally so it is collecting all of the direct and indirect sun insolation on a 180° angle. This energy is rated in W/m2.
